The Association for Global Economic Development [AFGED] has been constituted as a symbol of social responsibility of business, industry and trade, as not-for-profit making organization, under Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013, Govt. of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs for the development of business, industry and trade on global level.
India has already opened many sectors to foreign investors. Accordingly, some companies have already been landed in India. Similarly, Indian companies are also searching for a business opportunity in foreign countries.
Now India has decided to make its economy of 5 trillion by year 2025. This will be good opportunity for foreign direct investment in India. The Association will, therefore, take forward Indian government economic policy on global level and will try to expand India’s global linkages with various countries in the area of economic cooperation, trade and investment.
As a part of this strategy, the AFGED has given top priority on its agenda, to following primary sectors of Indian economy such as
Farming, Water conservation, Environment & Pollution, Forest
Set up manufacturing unit in various sectors in India
Transport, warehousing and port based industry
Infrastructure is one of the vital segments for the growth of the economy, which comprises housing, roads, construction, transport, communication, etc.
Artificial intelligence is the up coming sector, which is likely to play a prominent role in the development of our economy.
AFGED has a stronghold in Indian industry. In pursuit of this objective, the association organizes result oriented Conferences, Seminars and Symposia, educative programmes, in order to help policy-makers, businessmen, industrialists, entrepreneurs, researchers, academicians, NRIs and foreign investors to understand and appreciate the diversity of views and to arrive at a consensus in national interest.
AFGED provides detailed analysis and guidance in respect of policies and procedures affecting trade and industry. It also provides up-to-date economic intelligence in respect of India and Maharashtra and guides entrepreneurs, industrialists and Non-Resident Indians desirous of setting up of the industrial units or expanding the existing ones.
AFGED organizes business delegations to other countries for exploring business contacts in the areas such as agriculture, water conservation, environment & pollution, education, infrastructure, SEZs, tourism. The delegations aim at enhancing business tie-ups, joint ventures, joint programs, exchange of technology, and investment in these sectors. The Association proposes to take business delegations to countries like, Canada, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Ghana, Malaysia, Myanmar and Gulf Countries and central Asia, etc. in future.

Dr. Sham Choughule passed out from IIFT-New Delhi with a MBA degree in International Business. He has achieved a Doctorate in the “Trade-Transport and Industry” in a Commerce stream through Mumbai University.
He has 30 years of experience in the port, shipping, logistics and allied industry.
He has visited 15 international ports. He was a speaker at the “Vietnam International Port Conference-2019” and 3rd South East Asia Port Development Conference” held in Bangkok on 24
He got “Guest of Honour’s at the 12th National Conference on Infrastructure and Ports” held in Ahmadabad on Oct 23.
He was a faculty to Mumbai University, International Maritime Collage, Oman, SSPU-Pune, Indian Maritime University and a Gujarat Maritime University. He was a guest lecturer for Gujarat National Law University and T. S. Chanyak-Nerul Navi Mumbai.
He is a Doctoral Committee Member of the Indian Maritime University. He is also associated with the Centre for Maritime Economy and Port Connectivity, under the Indian Port Association and the Shipping Ministry. He has visited many countries to explore business opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs.
He is working as one of the Directors of the Association of Global Economic Development and focuses on International Business, Logistics and Maritime Transport.
